In a recent move to intensify the fight against drug and substance abuse, Lagos State has appointed popular social media personality Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi, popularly known as “Mandy Kiss,” as a brand ambassador for the Lagos State Kicks Against Drug and Substance Abuse (LASKADA) campaign.
The announcement was made by Lagos Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, during an event organized by LASKADA. Mr. Ogunlende officially conferred the ambassadorship on Mandy Kiss, who commands a social media following of over 400,000 people.

Commissioner Ogunlende emphasized the government’s recognition that drug abuse is a pervasive pandemic affecting communities deeply, stating, “Drugs are a pandemic that is hitting our streets, our society, and our communities. The government cannot fight it alone. We must work in collaboration with those who can reach as many people as possible.”
He added that Mandy Kiss, despite having a controversial past, agreed to be part of this crucial campaign aimed at educating the public and discouraging drug use especially among the youth across Lagos State.

“Everybody has a past, nobody’s perfect. But as a brand ambassador for LASKADA, we hope Mandy Kiss will help us reach every corner of Lagos to fight this menace,” the Commissioner noted.
Mandy Kiss expressed her readiness to stand tall in the fight against drug abuse and inspire youths to choose a purposeful, drug-free life. She acknowledged the honor bestowed by the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
LASKADA is responsible for coordinating a multi-sectoral, evidence-based response to drug abuse through sustained advocacy, public education, community engagement, policy influence, and research. The inclusion of social media influencers like Mandy Kiss marks an innovative approach to amplifying the campaign’s reach and impact.

This appointment comes shortly after public controversy surrounding Mandy Kiss’s planned attempt to break a Guinness World Record with a marathon sexual challenge. The Guinness World Records organization clarified it does not endorse such activities. However, the Lagos government is focusing on leveraging her considerable influence for social good.
The campaign’s success depends heavily on community collaboration, and this new partnership with Mandy Kiss aims to mobilize wider public awareness to combat drug abuse in Lagos State.
