Lagos has officially welcomed four newly approved Paramount Traditional White Cap Chiefs, marking a significant milestone in preserving and advancing the rich cultural heritage of Isale Eko and Lagos Island. These distinguished sons of Lagos, appointed and gazetted by His Royal Majesty, Oba Riliwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu, signify a blend of tradition and modernity aimed at fostering progress within the Lagos traditional institution.
The newly appointed Chiefs include:

- Engr. Ajibade Ismail Nosiru Ayeni, Eletu Odibo of Lagos (Head of Akarigbere Royal Class), a highly qualified engineer and technology expert, also renowned for his roles in governance, grassroots politics, and community representation.
- Chief Adebola Olalekan Dosunmu, Olorogun Adodo of Lagos (Akarigbere Royal Class), a key cultural custodian as Supreme Head of the Adamu Orisha Play (Olori Eyo), as well as a real estate entrepreneur and conflict resolution specialist.

These appointments affirm the wise leadership of Oba Riliwan Akiolu, who continues to safeguard Lagos’ cultural, historical, and spiritual legacy while embracing youthful innovation and professionalism. The Lagos State Government’s formal recognition further cemented the institutional and communal importance of these roles.
The White Cap Chiefs play vital roles in maintaining the traditions, festivals, and governance of Lagos, bridging the historical custodianship with present-day progress. Each Chief brings unique expertise—ranging from architecture, engineering, governance, peacebuilding, to healthcare—that promises a dynamic future for Isale Eko.
This historic moment honors the enduring values of unity, cultural pride, and service to Lagosians, with prayers for long life, wisdom, and success for the new Chiefs in their revered positions.
