Three men—Olufemi Faleti (59), Ayoade Adewale (41), and Idowu Yusuf (41)—appeared before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Friday, charged with conspiracy, burglary, and theft. They allegedly broke into a First Bank branch in Asogo, Ibadan, on March 24 at about 7:30 p.m., stealing two laptops valued at ₦800,000.
Prosecutor Inspector Elisha Tellang stated the suspects unlawfully entered the bank premises, violating Sections 516, 413, and 390(9) of the Oyo State Criminal Code of 2000. The accused pleaded not guilty. Magistrate Moyosore Atanda granted bail of ₦300,000 each with two sureties in the same amount. The case was adjourned to September 8 for continuation.
This incident adds to ongoing security concerns in Oyo State, where the government under Governor Seyi Makinde continues efforts to improve safety and economic development, including infrastructure upgrades and investor protections.
