Funke Akindele, a renowned actress and PDP deputy governorship candidate, is delighted that her just-released film, “Buka on Street,” broke a new Nollywood box office record by making more than N135 million in a single day.
For the second week running, the project continues to be the most popular Nollywood movie project.
On Tuesday, December 27, 2022, the delighted actress celebrated her success by applauding her devoted followers for their unfailing support and for filling theaters to watch the film “Battle on Buka Street.”
“Battle on Buka Street” aired on Sunday, December 11, 2022. The show’s plot revolves around a “battle” between two ladies who compete in a culinary challenge for the coveted “King of Buka Street” title, which is awarded to the area’s top street vendor.
A spectacular ensemble of Nollywood performers, including Femi Jacobs, Mercy Johnson, Kelvin Ikeduba, Bimbo Ademoye, Tina Mba, Sola Sobowale, Nkem Owoh, Tobi Makinde, and Funke Akindele, are included in the film which Funke Akindele produced.
Tobi Makinde and Funke Akindele shared the directing duties.
