Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has expressed deep condolences to His Royal Majesty, the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, on the passing of his mother, Alhaja Hawawu Awele Gbadamosi. The revered matriarch passed away on April 5, 2025, at the age of 94, as confirmed by the Olofa Palace.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the Governor extended sympathies on behalf of the government and people of Kwara State to the monarch and the entire Offa community. Governor AbdulRazaq remarked on Alhaja Hawawu’s fulfilling life and her remarkable legacy as a key figure in her community’s history.
“Our heartfelt sympathies and prayers are with His Royal Majesty during this difficult time. We pray that he finds solace in the grace bestowed upon Alhaja for a life well-lived, her contributions to society, and the joy of witnessing her children’s success,” the Governor stated.
He also prayed for Allah to forgive her shortcomings, ease her transition, and grant her eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus.
