I’ll Be Answerable to God If I Keep Silent About Makinde’s Support for Islam” – Oloso

” Abeokuta, Nigeria – Renowned Islamic scholar Professor Kamil Koyejo Oloso, the Wakil Mumini of Oyo State, has stated that he would be held accountable by God if he remained silent regarding Governor Seyi Makinde’s support for Muslims in Oyo State.

In a recent interview, Professor Oloso asserted that no previous administration in the state has demonstrated as much support for Muslims and Islam as Governor Makinde’s administration. He emphasized that Governor Makinde has rectified past injustices experienced by the Muslim community in Oyo State.

Professor Oloso, a Professor of Islamic Studies, noted that the Muslim community initially harbored concerns about Governor Makinde’s fairness towards Muslims, given his Christian faith. However, he stated that these doubts were dispelled during their first meeting with the governor.

“We were initially worried that as a Christian, he might marginalize the Muslim community,” Professor Oloso explained. “But during our meeting, he assured us of his commitment to fairness for all, and he has indeed been fair to the Muslim community in the state”.

Professor Oloso substantiated his position by highlighting the appointment of Muslims to key government positions, the official recognition of Hijrah Holiday, and the employment of numerous Muslims during the state government’s recent recruitment drive.

Furthermore, Professor Oloso attributed the prevailing peace in Oyo State to Governor Makinde’s equitable treatment of all residents, regardless of their religious affiliation.
