Group Petitions Oyo Assembly, Calls for Probe into PTS Mismanagement

Abeokuta, Ogun State,Nigeria – March 26, 2025 – The Oyo State House of Assembly is facing mounting pressure to investigate alleged mismanagement and irregularities at the Pacesetter Transport Services (PTS). The Association of Sacked Supervendors and Investors of Oyo State Pacesetter Transport Services (PTS) has formally petitioned the Assembly, demanding a thorough probe into the transport agency’s financial dealings and business practices.

The petition, received by the Assembly on March 21, 2025, levels accusations against PTS leadership, including:

• Financial mismanagement
• Illegal sales of government assets
• Unfair treatment of vendors
• Non-remittance of revenue

The association’s petition features several key issues:

• Unfair Termination of Supervendors and Investors: The group claims vendors were unjustly dismissed after successfully implementing the Automated Fare Collection System, despite their initial investments. They also cite unsustainable commission rates and a lack of transparency following the removal of their consultancy.
• Corruption and Favouritism: Allegations include payments to favored companies without service rendered, suspected ghost workers, and inflated financial transactions.
• Revenue Diversion from E-Ticketing: The petition raises concerns about the potential diversion of revenue generated from the e-ticketing system, which was introduced on May 6, 2024.

In light of these allegations, the association is urging the Oyo State House of Assembly to take the following actions:

• Conduct a forensic audit of PTS’s financial records.
• Summon Touch and Pay Technologies Nigeria Limited to release full transaction data from the e-ticketing system.
• Investigate wrongful dismissals and reinstate affected vendors.
• Reverse any illegal sales of government assets.
• Probe corruption, ghost worker schemes, and favouritism within PTS.
• Ensure accountability for PTS officials implicated in misconduct.

Mr. Ibrahim Asiwaju, Chairman of the Association of Sacked Supervendors and Investors of Oyo State PTS, emphasized the need for transparency, stating, “The people of Oyo State deserve transparency. We urge the Honourable House to act swiftly.”

The Oyo State House of Assembly is now under pressure to address these serious allegations and launch a comprehensive investigation into the operations of the Pacesetter Transport Services.
