The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has secured another significant achievement, ranking third among Nigerian universities in the recently released 2024 Global University Impact Rankings by Times Higher Education (THE).
This impressive performance places FUNAAB ahead of many first-generation universities.
In its debut appearance, FUNAAB ranked between 201 and 300 out of 1,963 institutions globally.
This was contained in a release made available by Olasunkanmi Olajide, Acting Director of the Directorate of Public Relations of the University.
THE evaluated 2,152 universities from 125 countries and regions for SDG2 Zero Hunger Worldwide to compile the overall Impact Rankings for 2024.
Earlier this year, FUNAAB was recognised as the Best University of Agriculture in Nigeria and the 7th Best globally by THE World University Rankings (WUR).
Additionally, last year, it attained the position of the 2nd Best in Nigeria in THE Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Universities Ranking.
According to Olajide, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde has congratulated the University Community, commending the staff members for their dedication and hardwork in achieving the milestone.
”’He urged continued commitment to maintaining and enhancing the University’s esteemed position among global institutions”.
Meanwhile, the Impact Rankings celebrate universities that excel in specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and those that maintain high standards across various goals.
The approach highlights the interconnectedness of all SDGs and the necessity of comprehensive strategies for achieving sustainable development. ValidViewNetwork reports.
