Personnel from the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with a hybrid force and the Civilian Joint Task Force, conducted a targeted operation in the Timbuktu triangle within the Lake Chad Region, resulting in the elimination of three terrorists.
The operation also saw the recovery of a machine gun, a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle, a gun truck equipped with an anti-aircraft gun, and a cache of arms and ammunition.
According to Maj. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, the terrorists engaged the troops in a fierce battle but were ultimately overpowered.
The successful offensive, conducted on Wednesdayy, dealt a major blow to the Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents, compelling them to abandon their stronghold and equipment amidst the onslaught of superior firepower from the Nigerian Army and its allies.

In addition to the neutralization of three terrorists, the troops recovered a variety of weapons and ammunition, including an MRAP vehicle, a gun truck, a Dushka Machine Gun, an AK-47 Rifle, and a locally fabricated gun.
, they seized a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) Bomb, along with significant quantities of ammunition and equipment.
Furthermore, in a separate operation in Nasarawa, Nigerian Army troops conducted a successful raid on criminal hideouts in Katakpa Village, Toto Local Government Area, resulting in the elimination of one criminal and the recovery of two AK-47 Rifles, a Pump Action Semi-automatic rifle, three AK-47 magazines, and 90 rounds of 7.62 mm Special ammunition.
Maj. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu commended the troops for their bravery and success in both operations, urging them to maintain their resilience and momentum in combating insurgency and criminal activities across the country.
