A Birthday Tribute from ValidViewNetwork
Today, Sunday, September 27, 2026, is more than another birthday. It is a day to celebrate 61 years of life, learning, service, mentorship and a deep love for the written word.
Some people retire from work. They do not retire from purpose.
Today, ValidViewNetwork joins family, friends, former students, colleagues and well-wishers in celebrating Mr. Adewuyi Solomon Adeyemi, a teacher, school guidance counsellor, educationist, administrator and lover of the pen.
Born on September 27, 1965, Mr. Adeyemi has spent a significant part of his life in the service of education and the development of young minds.
His journey in education began long before retirement. Between 1998 and 2005, he served as a PTA staff member at Itamerin Comprehensive High School, Ago-Iwoye, Muslim High School, Ago-Iwoye, and Abobi Comprehensive High School.
In 2005, he became a permanent teaching staff member, continuing his career at Ahmadiyya High School, Ago-Iwoye, and later at Ago-Iwoye Secondary School, where he taught subjects including Commerce, Business Studies, Marketing and Office Practice.
His career eventually took him to the position of Senior Tutor and Head of School at Ago-Iwoye Secondary School, Senior, under the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission.
On September 27, 2025, his 60th birthday also marked the end of his formal career in public teaching.
One year later, he is celebrating another birthday, this time with a different title: retired teacher, but certainly not retired from relevance.
A Teacher Beyond the Classroom
Mr. Adeyemi’s academic journey reflects his commitment to understanding not only what students learn, but also who they are and what they can become.
He graduated from Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye, in 1998, with a B.Sc. Ed in Guidance and Counselling with Business Administration, from the institution now known as Olabisi Onabanjo University.
That combination of education, counselling and business administration speaks to the breadth of his professional interests.
For decades, he stood at the intersection of teaching and guidance, helping young people acquire knowledge while navigating the realities of growing into adulthood.
That is one of the quiet contributions of teachers that statistics rarely capture.
A teacher may remember the number of students who passed an examination.
But society often remembers the students who became better people because somebody believed in them.
The Man Who Loves the Pen
There is another side to Mr. Adeyemi that makes today’s celebration particularly fitting for ValidViewNetwork.
He describes himself simply as “a lover of pen.”

For a man who has spent decades teaching, counselling and communicating, the pen is more than an instrument. It is a companion. It records memories. It preserves ideas. It challenges ignorance.It gives expression to experience.
And sometimes, it becomes the bridge between one generation and another.
His continued interest in writing and engagement with ValidViewNetwork therefore reflects a lifelong relationship with knowledge and communication.
61 and Still Writing
At 61, Mr. Adeyemi represents a generation whose contribution cannot be measured only by the years spent at work.
There is also the legacy of students taught, young people guided, colleagues influenced, lessons shared and values transmitted.
Today also marks one year since his retirement from TESCOM, Ogun State. Retirement may have brought an end to the official timetable, but it does not have to bring an end to purpose.
For people who have spent their lives learning, teaching and writing, there is always another chapter to begin.
And perhaps that is the beauty of this particular birthday.
The classroom may have changed, but the lesson continues.

Dear Mr. Adewuyi Solomon Adeyemi, on behalf of ValidViewNetwork, we celebrate you. We celebrate the years behind you, the wisdom gathered along the way and the lives that your career has touched.
