As the build -up to the 2023 general elections continues, the Coordinator of Peter Obi Town Hall Meetings, Chinasa Amaechi on Saturday confirmed that the emergence of Peter Obi as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will add value and respect to the traditional institutions across the country.
Chinasa while admonishing the loyalists of Obi in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital charged them to emulate the virtues of the Presidential candidate of Labour Party by giving the necessary respect to the traditional rulers across the country.
The loyalists had become impatient while waiting for Mr Peter Obi who had gone to pay the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo a visit as part of the activities lined up for the day.
The Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi had earlier arrived Abeokuta for his political campaign. As part of the campaign, he was scheduled to have a town Hall meeting at theatre hall located within the premises of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Abeokuta and a courtesy call to Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland , Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.
The Presidential Candidate on arrival moved straight with his entourage to pay homage to the first class traditional ruler, a distance of about 5 minutes drive.
Chinasa while admonishing the loyalists emphasized that Obi as a man who is known to be well cultured deemed it fit and important to pay homage to the royal father before the meeting. According to her, ” one of the policies of Obi when elected is to give honour to those who deserve it”.
“Our principal, Mr Peter Obi respects traditional institutions and knows the importance of royal fathers, Chinasa boasts.
“All I can assure you is that as soon as homage is paid, Obi will be here”, Chinasa said.
Mr Peter Obi later joined the loyalists for the Town Hall Meeting, ValidViewNetwork reports.
