US to return $954,000 Alamieyeseigha’s loot

The United States and the Federal Government have signed an agreement to repatriate $954,000 allegedly stolen by a former governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha.

Alamieyeseigha governed Bayelsa state between May 1999 and December 2005.

Before his death in October 2015, the first civilian governor of Bayelsa state was enmeshed in series of corruption cases.
