Sidi Ali, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics and journalism, passed away on Thursday evening at the age of 86 in Kano State.
The sad news was confirmed by a family member on Friday.
Ali, a Second Republic lawmaker and veteran journalist, dedicated his life to serving the nation, particularly in the field of public information.
He was the father of Hakama Sidi Ali, the acting Director of the Corporate Communication Department at the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Renowned for his commitment to human rights activism and his contributions to Nigerian history, Ali was remembered by former lawmaker Shehu Sanni as a “human library” who could recount every significant event in the country’s history.
Sanni expressed his condolences to Ali’s family and the people of Kano State.
Throughout his career, Ali served in various capacities, including at the Nigerian International Press Centre, the Ministry of Information, and the National Broadcasting Commission.
He was also an active member of the All Progressives Congress and played a significant role in the party’s Elders Committee in Kano State.
