On Wednesday, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the donation of N100 million to traders whose goods were burnt in Akere Motor Parts and Allied Dealers Association, AMPADA, in the Ajegunle area of the state.
The Governor equally laid the foundation for a new two-story market building in Akere.
The Governor, announced the donation when he led a delegation on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, on-the-spot assessment of the site.
Sanwo-Olu, attributed his donation as part of the measures to alleviate the plight of the victims who lost goods and cash in the fire.
An inferno had gutted Akere AMPADA, Apapa in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, destroying goods and properties worth millions of naira.
The inferno in which a life was lost generated serious concerns and is still being investigated by the Police.
