Francis Ngannou was reportedly involved in a fatal motorcycle accident in Yaounde, Cameroon, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old girl, according to local news outlets.
The incident is said to have occurred in the Omnisports District of Cameroon’s capital. Reports from Camer.be, Lebledparle, and Actu Cameroun indicate that the former UFC champion’s motorcycle collided with the young woman. The girl reportedly sustained severe injuries to her arm and leg and was immediately transported to Yaounde General Hospital. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries.
While Mr. Ngannou, 38, is reported to be unharmed, sources close to him state that he is “devastated” by the tragic event. He has yet to issue a public statement regarding the incident. However, reports suggest that Mr. Ngannou has covered the victim’s medical expenses.
Mr. Ngannou is known to be an enthusiast of motorcycles. This unfortunate incident comes just months after the painful loss of his 15-month-old son, Kobe, in April of last year. He dedicated his victory in a boxing match against Renan Ferreira in Saudi Arabia last October to his late son, displaying his profound grief and the motivation Kobe provided him.
Authorities have not yet released official details regarding the crash, and investigations are likely underway. Further updates will be provided as more verified information becomes available.
This is a developing story.
