Prof Oluwole Alagbe, a
Member of the European Centre for Research Training and Development, United Kingdom and Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (FNIA), with specialisation in housing and indigenous building materials study; pedagogic and didactic innovations in architectural education and History, is scheduled to present the 9th Inaugural Lecture of Caleb University, Imota Lagos, on Friday 18th October 2024 at the University Multipurpose Hall by 10:00 am.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof Nosa Owens-Ibie, who doubles as the Chairman of the Inaugural Lecture, stated that “as the first Inaugural Lecture from the College of Architecture, this has a special significance for me and the entire University. We are really looking forward to it“
According to a statement by Olawale Adekoya, the Institution’s Information, Media and Publication Specialist, Prof Alagbe, a former (acting) HoD Architecture, Covenant University and current Dean, College of Environmental Sciences and Management, Caleb Univeristy; obtained Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in Architecture at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. He then earned a doctorate degree (Ph.D) in Architecture in 2009 from Covenant University.
The renowned Architect who began his academic career as an Assistant Lecturer in Covenant University, has risen astronomically from an Assistant Lecturer in 2003 to a Professor in 2021 at Caleb University. A full-time teaching and research endeavours in the last 18 years had culminated in the supervision of numerous students at the undergraduate and postgraduate (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) levels.
Amiable, versatile, a great team player and leader of men, Prof Oluwole Alagbe has published widely in peer-reviewed reputable journals and conferences nationally and internationally.
The 9th Inaugural Lecturer, who has reviewed scholarly articles for several journals in his core areas, and chaired several technical sessions in conferences, is an ARCON registered Architect; member, Association of Architectural Educators in Nigeria; Cooperative Network for Building Researchers (CNBR), among others.
He has published more than 72 journal articles and conference papers as well as 10 book chapters.
