Akure, Ondo State – Ondo State is actively seeking partnerships with investors to unlock its vast tourism potential and boost the local economy. This commitment was reiterated by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa during a recent visit from the Nigeria Association of Tour Operators (NATOP).

Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted his administration’s focus on promoting cultural and eco-tourism, emphasizing its role in showcasing the state’s rich heritage. He met with NATOP members, led by President Hajia Bolaji Mustapaha, at the Government House in Akure on Saturday.
The Governor outlined the state’s efforts in infrastructure development, enhanced security, and improving the ease of doing business as key components of a strategy to attract both local and foreign investment. “For people to come to our state, we need to ensure safety, functional infrastructure, and a welcoming atmosphere,” Governor Aiyedatiwa stated, adding, “Our roads and airport are being upgraded to support our vision for tourism-driven growth.”

NATOP President, Hajia Bolaji Mustapaha, lauded the serene, friendly, and secure environment in Ondo State. She particularly commended Governor Aiyedatiwa’s dedication to the welfare of the people. Mustapaha also praised the Governor’s “visionary steps towards promoting tourism and creating a friendly atmosphere for investors.”

During their visit, the NATOP delegation explored Araromi Beach in Ilaje Local Government, which Mustapaha described as “one of the finest in the country,” expressing her delight at the state’s significant tourism potential.
The event was attended by key government officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa; Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN; Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr. Abiola Olawoye; Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Prof. Simidele Odimayo; Special Adviser to the Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties, Comrade Bola Taiwo; and Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Seun Osamaye.
