The Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun, has beefed up security with the deployment of 1,200 personnel across the 18 local government areas of the state to ensure the safety of lives and property during the Eid-el-Fitri celebration.
The Corps Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed this on Wednesday at the command headquarters, noting that the deployment is part of intensified efforts to maintain peace and security before, during, and after the festivities.
According to him, the agency has also placed its forest unit, the Amotekun Rangers, on yellow alert, with operatives conducting extensive patrols across major border areas, including the Ondo-Osun, Ondo-Ekiti, and Ondo-Ogun boundaries.
Adeleye added that officers have been placed on 24-hour surveillance operations across the state, particularly in strategic locations, to deter criminal activities.
