President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, met with the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Aminu Tambuwal and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, at the State House, Abuja.
The President had earlier scheduled to meet with all members of the Governors’ Forum before the cancellation of the engagement.
The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Atiku Bagudu, and the President’s Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
ValidViewNetwork gathered that the meeting which was held behind close doors was in connection with the issues around the redesigned naira notes.
President Buhari had on Friday met behind closed doors with governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress where he asked Nigerians to give him seven days to resolve the crisis associated with the naira redesign policy introduced by the apex bank.
ValidViewNetwork reports that there have been demonstrations across the country arising from the hardships generated by the naira redesign policy and fuel crisis.
