The Lagos State government has sealed a church due to persistent complaints from residents regarding noise pollution. This action was confirmed by Tunde Ajayi, who noted that the sealing was part of ongoing efforts to address environmental infractions in the area. The church was reportedly disturbing the community with excessive noise levels, prompting local residents to seek intervention from authorities.
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has been actively enforcing regulations against noise pollution, having previously sealed multiple establishments, including churches and hotels, for similar violations. The agency has set specific noise limits of 55 decibels during the day and 45 decibels at night to mitigate disturbances.
