Abeokuta, Ogun State – Governor Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun joined His Royal Majesty,Oba (Dr.) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, the Aláké and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, and the people of Egbaland, both at home and abroad, in celebrating Lisabi Day at Ake Palace.
The annual celebration, which honours the legendary warrior Lisabi and the rich cultural heritage of Egbaland, was attended by notable figures, including former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and former Governor Chief Segun Osoba.
“This year’s celebration was a testament to the strength, unity, and resilience of the people of Egbaland,” Governor Abiodun stated.
“The vibrant cultural displays and performances reminded us all of the courage and leadership of the great warrior, Lisabi, whose legacy continues to inspire generations. Today, we celebrated not just our past, but our collective commitment to progress.”
The Governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to supporting cultural events like Lisabi Day, recognizing their role in fostering unity and promoting the state’s rich heritage.
“As we look to the future, my administration will continue to support events such as Lisabi Day, which foster unity, promote our rich culture, and contribute to the development of our state.
We recognize the importance of preserving our heritage while advancing our goals for progress,” he said.
Governor Abiodun congratulated the Aláké and the people of Egbaland for a successful celebration, expressing hope that the spirit of Lisabi would continue to guide them toward greater achievements for Egbaland, Ogun State, and the nation.
