President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday condemned the gruesome murder of the Labour Party, LP, senatorial candidate for Enugu State East Senatorial District, Oyibo Chukwu, and five other persons.
Buhari, in a statement by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, believes that the perpetrators of this ignoble act have no respect for human life and dignity.
According to him, the culprits deserve the wrath of divine and natural justice.
The President also directed security agencies to “track down the culprits of this heinous crime,” even as he sympathized with the families of the victims, the Labour Party and the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA.
Chukwu alongside five other party members were reportedly killed and set ablaze inside their car on Wednesday at Amaechi Awkunanaw, Enugu.
