The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed the TLS Visa Application Centre in Abuja following serious consumer complaints and alleged assaults on FCCPC and police officers during an investigation.
The enforcement action, led by FCCPC Director of Surveillance and Investigations Boladale Adeyinka, was triggered by multiple complaints from Nigerians who paid for visa services that were never delivered. When FCCPC officials attempted to serve a letter and summons to TLS for investigation, TLS staff allegedly assaulted the officials and police officers providing security.

The Commission accused TLS of obstructing justice and violating several provisions of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA). The Executive Vice Chairman of FCCPC directed the sealing of the premises on grounds that TLS’s operations were inimical to consumer welfare.
TLS management has been summoned to appear before the FCCPC by 2 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, to respond to the allegations. Failure to comply may result in penalties including up to three years imprisonment, a fine of ₦20 million, or both, under Sections 33(3) and 33(4) of the FCCPA.

The FCCPC has urged affected consumers to submit evidence of service failures and warned other service providers that it will act decisively to protect Nigerian consumers. TLS has so far declined to comment publicly on the matter.
This decisive action underscores the FCCPC’s commitment to enforcing consumer rights and ensuring accountability in visa support services in Nigeria.
