EFCC Nabs 48 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abeokuta Raid

Abeokuta, Ogun State – Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 48 suspected internet fraudsters in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, following a targeted surveillance operation and credible intelligence. The arrests were made today, Friday, July 11, 2025, as part of the commission’s ongoing efforts to curb internet-related fraudulent activities.

During the operation, authorities recovered a pump action rifle, five high-end vehicles, a motorbike, numerous mobile phones, laptop computers, and various incriminating documents. The suspects are currently undergoing investigation and are expected to be charged to court as soon as inquiries are concluded.
