
The White House has formally submitted the nomination of Ademola Adewale-Sadik to the Senate for confirmation as the United States Executive Director at the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group. If confirmed, Adewale-Sadik will serve a five-year term, representing U.S. interests at the multilateral financial institution headquartered in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Adewale-Sadik, 37, is a Nigerian-American finance professional with a distinguished academic and professional background. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Maryland, where he was recognized as a Banneker/Key Scholar. He furthered his education with an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Yale Law School.
Professionally, Adewale-Sadik has held roles in management consulting and law, including positions at the Boston Consulting Group and as an M&A lawyer at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York. Most recently, he has served as a Principal at BroadPeak Global, a private equity firm specializing in industrials, materials, and chemicals sectors.
The African Development Bank is a leading multilateral development finance institution, supporting economic growth and poverty reduction across Africa. The U.S. Executive Director plays a key role in shaping the bank’s policies and investment decisions, reflecting American priorities in the region.
Adewale-Sadik’s nomination is now before the Senate, where it awaits confirmation.
