During a Friday Jumaat service in Abeokuta, Chief Imam Ismail Abdul Lateef of the Saadatul Abbadiyyah Organisation of Nigeria cautioned against calls to suspend radio and TV Ramadan programs and Hajj sponsorship due to the country’s hunger crisis.
The cleric, addressing the congregation, dismissed the advocacy propagated on social media to redirect funds from Hajj and media programs towards aiding the less privileged, deeming it unnecessary.
Valid View Network got a reports indicate that some individuals were advocating for the cessation of paid media programs on radio and TV stations during Ramadan, as well as the sponsorship of the Hajj exercise, suggesting that the funds should be directed towards feeding hungry people in Nigeria.
Imam Abdul Lateef countered this notion, stating that scholars have already addressed and corrected such proposals, warning proponents to desist. He emphasized the importance of sermons during Ramadan, asserting that Allah’s mercy surpasses any human initiative.

Encouraging those with the means to continue sponsoring radio and TV programs and supporting the Hajj exercises, the cleric emphasized that Allah’s mercy transcends such actions.
He urged believers to trust in Allah’s power and shared a personal experience during Umrah, highlighting the profound moment when his prayers were answered at the Kaaba.
Imam Abdul Lateef stressed the value of granted requests and the significance of relying on Allah’s power for enrichment.
He concluded by reinforcing the importance of continued support for media lectures during Ramadan and sponsorship for the Hajj, dismissing calls for their cessation.
