Tinubu unveils 28-man ministerial list, 11 states have no nominee

…..Four former governors made list

The highly anticipated ministerial nominee list by President Bola Tinubu was on Thursday afternoon unveil by the Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, presented the ministerial list before the Senate at exactly 01:19pm.

Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, and three other ex-governors made the list alongside Presidential spokesman, Dele Alake; acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abubakar Kyari; Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Lateef Fagbemi; also made the cut.

A look at the list indicate that Katsina, Cross River, and Bauchi states have two ministerial nominees, while 11 states do not have any for now.

The eleven states are Adamawa, Bayelsa, Gombe, Kano, Kebbi, Kogi, Lagos, Nasarawa, Osun, Yobe, and Zamfara.

According to section 147(3) of the 1999 constitution, as amended, the President shall appoint at least one Minister from each State, who shall be an indigene of such State.

The list also included seven female nominee making a 25%.

It is expected that President Tinubu will send a supplementary list to the senate to meet up with necessary constitutional requirements.
