An alleged affair between a married gym instructor, Dennis Emmanuel, and social media personality Folakemi Martins has escalated into a public dispute after both parties presented competing accounts of what happened between them.
ValidViewNetwork gathered the details from posts and screenshots shared on X, where Emmanuel publicly accused Martins of harassment, stalking and attempts to interfere with his marriage and reputation.
Emmanuel admitted that he had a sexual relationship with Martins but alleged that the relationship was supposed to be casual.
According to his account, the relationship began on May 9, 2026, after he told Martins that he was married and was looking for a “side chic.”
ValidViewNetwork gathered that Emmanuel subsequently shared screenshots which he said were conversations between himself and Martins.
The alleged exchanges included discussions about sex, intimacy and the future of their relationship.
One of the messages attributed to Martins questioned why Emmanuel had withdrawn after she had asked about marriage.
Other alleged messages showed her asking when they would meet again and discussing sexual intimacy.
ValidViewNetwork is not independently authenticating the screenshots or establishing the circumstances in which the conversations occurred. They form part of Emmanuel’s publicly presented account of the dispute.
Martins disputes his account
ValidViewNetwork reports that Martins subsequently challenged important aspects of Emmanuel’s narrative. She reportedly said she never agreed to be a “side chick” and maintained that she was unaware that Emmanuel was married when their relationship began.
Martins also said she was gathering evidence and pursuing the matter through legal channels.
“I never agreed to be a side chick and was never aware of any marriage,” she said in a statement reported in the online discussion.
She declined to provide further details, saying additional information would be released through the appropriate legal process.
ValidViewNetwork therefore considers the allegations between both parties unresolved and does not present either person’s account as an established finding of fact.
Emmanuel says he wanted the relationship to end
ValidViewNetwork gathered from Emmanuel’s posts that he eventually decided to end the relationship.
He described Martins’ alleged conduct as increasingly aggressive and condescending and said he informed her that they would no longer continue seeing each other.
Emmanuel subsequently alleged that Martins continued contacting him and that she and others targeted him and his wife on social media.
In one post, he claimed Martins was outside his residence with unidentified men and said they were banging on his door.
He later explained why he had decided to make the dispute public, saying the situation had moved beyond a private disagreement and was affecting his reputation, home, wife and family.
Those claims are also allegations made by Emmanuel and have not been independently established by ValidViewNetwork.
The uncomfortable lesson about casual sex
ValidViewNetwork’s concern with this episode goes beyond the social-media drama. There is a simple lesson that both men and women should understand: not everything is free, and not everything remains casual simply because two adults call it casual at the beginning.
People should be extremely careful about entering sexual relationships without understanding the possible emotional and social consequences.
Sex can create attachment. Sex can create expectations. Sex can create resentment when one person believes the arrangement has ended while the other person does not.
That does not justify harassment, stalking, threats or interference in another person’s marriage. If such conduct occurred, it should be addressed through evidence and the appropriate legal channels.
But the person who enters the arrangement also has a responsibility to understand the risk.
Do not use sex as gratitude
ValidViewNetwork also believes there is a broader lesson worth stating plainly. Do not express gratitude through sex. If someone helps you financially, professionally or personally, sex should not become the currency through which you repay the favour.
And if you help someone, do not expect sexual access as payment.
Sexual intimacy should not become a disguised transaction because once expectations enter the equation, what one person regards as a favour may become something the other person regards as an emotional or relational obligation.
Men and women should therefore be cautious about relationships that begin with an exchange of money, influence, professional assistance, favours or other benefits for intimacy.
Marriage is not a vacation arrangement
ValidViewNetwork reports this episode as another reminder that marriage carries responsibilities that do not disappear when temptation arrives.
When you marry, you do not receive occasional vacations from being married. You cannot decide that you are a husband when it suits you and temporarily become a bachelor when an opportunity for sex presents itself.
Marriage is a commitment.
That is why people should be brutally honest with themselves before entering it. Be sure about the person. Be sure about the values. Be sure about the commitment. Be sure about the kind of life you are prepared to build.
A wedding may last a day. A marriage is supposed to be for life.
Emmanuel also miscalculated
There is also a difficult point that should not be ignored in Emmanuel’s own account. If his version of events is accepted as presented, he entered a sexual relationship with a woman while married and expected it to remain a casual arrangement that he could eventually terminate.
That was a serious miscalculation.
Even where two adults agree that a relationship is casual, neither person can completely control what the other eventually feels.
Emmanuel was entitled to decide that he no longer wanted the relationship.
Martins, if her account is accurate, was equally entitled to dispute his version of how the relationship began.
The responsible course, however, is to establish boundaries from the beginning and understand that entering an affair can produce consequences far beyond the moment of intimacy.
When private matters become public
ValidViewNetwork gathered that the dispute has now moved substantially beyond the two people involved, with screenshots, accusations and counterclaims circulating publicly.
That creates another problem. Social media is not a courtroom. A screenshot may be genuine and still fail to provide the entire context.
A person’s account may contain some truth and still leave out information that changes how an event is understood.
For that reason, readers should treat the allegations circulating online with caution until independently established.

What can reasonably be learned from the episode is not who has definitively “won” the online argument.
It is that intimate decisions have consequences. If you are married, protect the marriage you chose. If you are single, understand exactly what you are entering.
If someone offers sex as payment for a favour, think twice.
And if you intend to enter a casual sexual arrangement, do not assume that the word casual magically prevents human beings from developing emotions, expectations or resentment.
ValidViewNetwork reports that the matter remains a dispute between the parties, with Martins indicating that she intends to pursue her side through legal channels.
For everyone watching the controversy unfold online, perhaps the most useful lesson is the simplest one: Do not enter relationships whose consequences you are unwilling to carry. ValidViewNetwork reports.
