We’ll Take Care of You: Kwankwaso Tells Atiku to Abandon 2027 Ambition

​The Vice-Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has urged former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar to abandon his 2027 presidential ambition and focus instead on his traditional responsibilities.

​Speaking to members of the Fulani Farmers Association during a courtesy visit to his Abuja residence, Kwankwaso cited age and health considerations in advising the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential hopeful to withdraw from the race. He called on Atiku’s supporters and associates from Adamawa to persuade the veteran politician to step aside, assuring that his camp would look after him if they secure victory at the polls.

​Atiku, who holds the traditional title of Wazirin Adamawa, previously hinted that the 2027 election cycle would likely mark his final attempt at the presidency following multiple bids spanning over two decades.
