ValidViewNetwork gathered that an Ogun State woman, Oluwatosin Bankole, has alleged that her second twin mysteriously disappeared after she gave birth, claiming that both the hospital where she delivered and her husband’s family know the whereabouts of the missing child.

Bankole said she went into a hospital expecting to come out with two babies. She came out with one.

Years later, she is still waiting for someone to tell her the truth.

The Alleged Cover-Up

According to her, no one was willing to give her a straight answer about what happened to the other baby.

Her search for answers has stretched across years, and she says it has been met with silence, deflection and what she describes as a deliberate cover-up involving the hospital where she gave birth and her husband’s family.

Bankole also stated that her mother-in-law was aware of a scan indicating she was carrying twins, but after the surgery, she was allegedly informed that the twins had become one.

Physical Assault Allegation

She further alleged that three to four days after giving birth, while she was still recovering, she was physically assaulted by her husband’s younger sibling and her mother-in-law.

Bankole has taken her case to the public, sharing her story in a video that has been widely circulated. The Punch Newspapers published the video on its Instagram page, where it has generated significant engagement, with many Nigerians calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.

Bankole’s husband, Sheriff Akanbi, has accused her of substance abuse, stating their marriage collapsed over the issue.

Akanbi alleged that before they got married, Bankole refused his advances during a meeting at a hotel in Agbado and that he later heard claims that she was involved in commercial sex work at another hotel in Sango.
