NiMet’s weather forecast is a reminder that Nigeria is increasingly vulnerable to extreme weather events.

For Nigeria, the lesson is clear: preparedness saves lives. The same leaders who fail to invest in flood control and emergency response will never allow their own families to be swept away by the waters.

Prepare for the worst. Invest in flood control. And never forget that climate change is not a distant threat, it is here, and it is raining.
