The Nigeria Police Force has announced major breakthroughs in cross-border law enforcement, revealing that its Interpol National Central Bureau (NCB) arrested more than 10 international fugitives and secured the permanent forfeiture of criminal assets valued at over N2 billion.
The milestones, covering operations from September 2025 to August 2026, were made public to mark the United Nations International Day of Police Cooperation.
According to the bureau, sustained intelligence-sharing and multi-lateral partnerships spanning five continents also facilitated more than five international extraditions and the rescue of over 60 victims of human trafficking and kidnapping.

In addition to physical apprehensions, the Abuja-based bureau investigated upwards of 43 financial crime cases involving 30 countries and processed more than 15 cybercrime referrals from partner agencies globally.
Police authorities emphasized that the campaign demonstrates the growing efficacy of borderless police cooperation, warning that perpetrators of transnational crimes have increasingly fewer places to hide.
