Bizarre Arrest: Armed Drug Suspects Request Photo with Delta PPRO

​AGBARHO, DELTA STATE — In a bizarre twist that has left law enforcement officers shaking their heads, two suspected drug dealers arrested with illicit substances and firearms reportedly asked to take a photograph with the Delta State Police Command spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, immediately following their interrogation.

​The suspects, identified as 46-year-old Omini Ezeri and 42-year-old Chinedum Wagbara, were apprehended during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Agbarho-Warri road. Operatives intercepted the men while they were traveling in a Mercedes-Benz ML SUV bearing registration number AAA 604 JZ.

​A thorough search of the vehicle and its occupants yielded two Beretta pistols, a dagger, and a substantial quantity of a substance suspected to be cocaine. According to police reports, the suspects casually claimed the firearms were utilized to protect their illicit drug trade.

​Following their detention, the suspects were brought in for questioning by SP Edafe. However, the gravity of their situation appeared to completely escape them once the interview commenced.

​Relating the surreal encounter on social media, a stunned Edafe expressed disbelief at the suspects’ nonchalant demeanor.

​”I have not seen this kind of people before. Caught with cocaine and two pistols, which they claim they use for the drug business. But they got carried away when they saw that I wanted to interview them. They even asked for a picture after the interview,” Edafe wrote.

​Police authorities confirmed that both suspects remain in police custody as ongoing investigations look deeper into their distribution network and the source of the recovered weapons.
