Apomu Queen Sustains Food Bank Initiative To Cushion Hardship

​APOMU, OSUN STATE — In a continued demonstration of grassroots philanthropy, the Queen of Apomu Kingdom, Olori Janet Afolabi, has reinforced her humanitarian footprint by distributing vital food supplies to vulnerable women, children, and households across the community through her ongoing Food Bank initiative.

​The latest outreach, executed to alleviate prevailing economic pressures on low-income residents, underscores a sustained commitment to grassroots welfare that has remained active for two years. Operating under the auspices of the Olori Janet Afolabi Foundation, the intervention addresses nutritional security at the community level.

​Addressing beneficiaries and community stakeholders during the distribution exercise, Olori Afolabi emphasized the fundamental human right to sustenance, noting that child welfare remains severely compromised by hunger.

​“No child should go to bed hungry. No child should remain awake because hunger has made him or her unable to sleep,” Olori Afolabi stated.

​The initiative specifically targets demographics most vulnerable to economic shocks—predominantly mothers, young children, and the elderly—offering a critical buffer against rising living costs.
