Prof. Lateef Sanni Sets New Milestone with Landmark Donation to FUNAAB Zoo Park

Prof. Lateef Oladimeji Sanni, a distinguished alumnus of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has made history once again by personally donating a structure and an iconic animal to the university’s Zoo Park, marking a unique first in the institution’s legacy.

A trailblazer since his student days, Prof. Sanni was among the first graduates of the then University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB). His early achievements include being the inaugural Chairman of the Students’ Union Electoral Committee. He further distinguished himself as the university’s first alumnus to become a professor, the first to deliver an inaugural lecture, and the first to serve as Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

Continuing his record of groundbreaking contributions, Prof. Sanni has now become the first graduate to make a personal donation of both a structure and an iconic animal to the FUNAAB Zoo Park, a gesture that significantly enhances the university’s facilities and wildlife conservation efforts.

Prof. Sanni is a renowned academic in Food Science and Technology, with notable leadership roles including Dean of the College of Food Science and Human Ecology and a member of the FUNAAB Governing Council. His accolades include numerous academic awards, research grants, and leadership positions at the national and international levels. He recently received an Honorary Doctor of Science degree from the University of Greenwich, UK, recognizing his distinguished career and contributions.
