The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has launched the operation of “Yayi Buses,” marking a significant improvement in campus transportation—an initiative championed through the generous donation of minibuses by Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, CON, affectionately known as Senator Yayi. This has been warmly welcomed by the university community, with students applauding the comfort, affordability, and reliability of the new bus service.

The Yayi Buses offer a neat, spacious, and convenient mode of transport within and around the FUNAAB campus. Fare systems have been designed to be student-friendly, charging ₦100 for trips between the Ceremonial Gate and Motor Park, ₦200 to Colleges and Hostels, and ₦300 to the FPY Centres. Each minibus accommodates up to eight passengers, ensuring efficient and comfortable travel.

Students like Mr. Azubuike Nathaniel from the Department of Physics and Miss Oluropo Lydia from Agricultural Extension and Rural Development have expressed relief and praise for the service, citing its affordability and convenience as transformative factors in their daily commute.

This transportation upgrade is part of Senator Yayi’s ongoing commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure, highlighted by his previous donations of solar-powered streetlights and multiple minibuses to FUNAAB. The university management and student body recognize the initiative as a milestone in improving campus welfare, mobility, and overall student experience.
