Air Peace Creates 1,000 Graduate Jobs Following FG’s 4% FOB Levy Suspension

Nigeria’s largest airline, Air Peace, has announced an expansion of its 2025/2026 Graduate Trainee Programme aimed at creating 1,000 job opportunities for fresh graduates. This initiative is a direct response to the Federal Government’s recent suspension of the 4% Free on Board (FOB) import levy, a move hailed as a vital relief for the aviation sector and the broader economy.

According to Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace, the suspension of the levy—a policy introduced by the Nigeria Customs Service—helps alleviate operational cost pressures that could have otherwise threatened jobs and airline stability. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Finance Minister Wale Edun for their decisive action to listen to industry concerns and protect millions of jobs nationwide.

Dr. Onyema emphasized that the airline’s new graduate recruitment effort is a direct form of reciprocation aligned with the government’s job-sustaining agenda. He assured that should further supportive policies unfold, Air Peace is ready to scale up employment, stating, “This is how partnerships between government and the private sector can transform a nation.”

The Graduate Trainee Programme targets young Nigerians under 30 years old, with at least a Second Class Lower Degree from an accredited university, and a required NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Candidates must demonstrate the passion to learn and the adaptability needed to thrive in the dynamic aviation industry. Successful applicants will benefit from career mentorship, hands-on training, and robust monthly salaries, while gaining exposure to the aviation and allied sectors to build a skilled professional pipeline.
