President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his profound gratitude to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for the exceptional hospitality extended to him and his delegation during their recent visit to Brazil. The visit was highlighted by a distinguished luncheon at the Itamaraty Palace, symbolizing a deepened friendship between the two nations.

The discussions between the Nigerian and Brazilian leaders went beyond formalities, focusing on substantive cooperation to foster economic growth and bilateral ties. This resulted in five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) encompassing trade, aviation, science, finance, and diplomacy, setting a clear framework for collaborative efforts and impactful outcomes.

A key highlight of the visit is the anticipated return of Petrobras to Nigeria, a move expected to invigorate the nation’s oil and gas industry while creating extensive economic opportunities for Nigerians.
The partnership will also enhance connectivity through new direct flights between Nigeria and Brazil and facilitate knowledge exchange in critical sectors such as technology, food security, and clean energy. This alliance epitomizes a shared commitment to strengthening South-South cooperation and expanding potential for sustainable development.

President Tinubu concluded by thanking Brazil for its warm friendship, culinary delights, and reaffirming the shared vision for a united future across the Atlantic Ocean.
