
The Nimbe Adedipe Library at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, has successfully brought its conference monitor television back into operation following repairs carried out by engineers from Ogun State Television.
According to a statement made available by the University Librarian, Prof. Abayomi Owolabi, Mr. Olasunkanmi Kehinde facilitated the repairs of the television, which had not been fully functional for some time. Prof. Owolabi further asserted that the conference monitor television was restored to optimal working condition.
Giving background to the development, he stated : “Mr. Kehinde expressed surprise at the presence of such advanced equipment in a university library, noting that such conference monitors are typically found in television stations. He praised the university management for the foresight in installing this cutting-edge technology, which now enhances the library’s capacity to support academic activities.”
The conference monitor television serves multiple important functions, including displaying presentations, slides, and multimedia during lectures and conferences; facilitating video conferencing for hybrid meetings; showing live camera feeds during events; and broadcasting information, announcements, and schedules to library users.
In addition to completing repairs, the Ogun State Television team conducted training sessions for the library staff to ensure they can effectively utilize the equipment.
The University Librarian expressed satisfaction at the successful repair after several previous attempts, thanking the engineers for their technical support. He encouraged the library staff to fully leverage the conference monitor for lectures, conferences, and other scholarly events, highlighting the university’s commitment to integrating advanced technology into its academic environment.
