Today, Ogun State celebrated the swearing-in of three distinguished judges into its judiciary, marking a significant moment in the state’s ongoing commitment to justice and the rule of law. The newly appointed judges—Mr. Julius Adebayo Ojikutu, Mrs. Adejumoke Oluwatoyin Adewole, and Mrs. Oluyemisi Oluwakemi Adebo—were charged to embody fairness, integrity, and courage as they assume their critical roles.
During the solemn ceremony, the judges were reminded that their ultimate guiding principles must be reverence for God, adherence to the Constitution of Nigeria, and their own conscience. These pillars are essential to ensuring that their judgments reflect not only excellent legal expertise but also unwavering moral character and dedication to justice.
The administration emphasized the importance of the judiciary serving as a beacon of hope for justice, a shield against oppression, and a guarantee that right will prevail over might. The judges were urged to remain steadfast and courageous in the face of potential pressures, prioritizing justice and the welfare of the people above all else.

Governor Dapo Abiodun reaffirmed his government’s commitment to supporting the judiciary through adequate resources, respect for court rulings, and the enhancement of judicial processes to ensure swift and fair dispensation of justice. He underscored the importance of maintaining the separation of powers and fostering harmonious cooperation among government branches for the benefit of Ogun State’s citizens.
This swearing-in aligns with recent judicial appointments recommended by the National Judicial Council, which selected these three judges among others, recognizing their exemplary service records and abilities to uphold justice in Ogun State. Mrs. Adewole’s appointment, notably, was hailed as historic by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, highlighting her distinguished service and dedication to public administration and justice.

Together, these appointments reflect Ogun State’s unwavering dedication to strengthening its judiciary and ensuring that justice remains accessible, fair, and respected across the state’s numerous judicial divisions.
