The Nimbe Adedipe Library at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has recently expanded its resources with the acquisition of a diverse collection of new academic journals in Management Studies, Banking, Finance, Economics, and Development Studies. This enhancement aims to boost research capabilities and provide enriched academic materials for both staff and students across the University.
This latest development complements the library’s already vast digital and print holding, including access to more than sixty specialized databases available through its online platform (opac.funaab.edu.ng). The University Librarian highlighted the importance of continual improvement of research output by ensuring up-to-date and relevant academic resources are accessible to the University’s academic community. Special acknowledgments were extended to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, and the University Management for their support, including recent repairs to the library’s air conditioning system, thus improving the environment for study and research.
Among the newly acquired titles are leading journals pivotal to contemporary study and research in Management, Banking, and Finance, such as the Journal of Banking Regulations (Vol. 26, 2025), African Journal of Management & Business Research (Vol. 20, 2025), and the International Journal of Business & Management Research (Vol. 6, 2025). These additions also include niche regional publications like the Gusau Journal of Business Administration and Kashere Journal of Accounting & Finance.
Similarly, the Economics and Development Studies collection has been significantly bolstered with new volumes of relevant journals including the Gusau Journal of Economics & Development Studies (2024), Journal of Economics Perspective (2025), and the KASU Journal of Economics and Development Studies (December 2024).
The library encourages staff and students eager to leverage these new resources for academic research or seeking information on journal submission and publication protocols to contact the Serials Unit directly.
This strategic acquisition is part of the broader mission of FUNAAB and Nimbe Adedipe Library to support the university’s tripodal mandate of teaching, research, and extension, fostering a robust academic environment where research thrives through enhanced access to top-tier information resources.
With these steps, Nimbe Adedipe Library continues to set new standards in research and learning at FUNAAB, empowering scholars and reinforcing the University’s reputation as a leading institution for agricultural and management sciences research in Nigeria and beyond.
