History was written in bold letters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on Sunday, as Nigeria’s D’Tigress asserted their dominance over African women’s basketball, capturing a fifth consecutive FIBA Women’s AfroBasket title in commanding style.

Their 78–64 victory over Mali not only sealed the championship but also extended their remarkable unbeaten run to 29 games—a streak that dates back to 2015.

With seven titles to their name, Nigeria now stands just four behind Senegal, the tournament’s most decorated team.
