
The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has mourned the passing of the Chief Imam of Eruwaland, Sheikh AbdulKareem Abdulsalam Olore, who died on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at age 84.
In a condolence statement, Ogundoyin described Sheikh Olore as a revered spiritual leader, father figure, and moral guide to the Eruwa Muslim community. He noted the late Chief Imam’s pivotal role in fostering unity and resolving longstanding leadership disputes within the community.
“Baba Sheikh Olore was not just the Chief Imam; he was a man of peace, wisdom, and humility. His prayers and guidance contributed immensely to our spiritual growth and unity,” the Speaker stated.
The Speaker praised Sheikh Olore’s patience and maturity, especially during challenging times in Eruwaland’s history, describing his life as one dedicated to the greater good of the community and the principles of the Islamic faith.
Ogundoyin extended condolences to the cleric’s family, the Muslim Ummah of Eruwa, and the broader Ibarapa Muslim community. He urged all to draw strength from the worthy legacy of Sheikh Olore and to uphold his values of peace, service, and spiritual devotion.
He prayed: “May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Aljanah Firdaus.”
