Abeokuta, Ogun State – The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has officially welcomed Professor Olawale Dairo as its new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development). He takes over from Professor Mufutau Atayese, who recently assumed the pioneering role of Vice-Chancellor at the newly established Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies, Iragbiji (FUADSI), Osun State.
The handover ceremony, held today, July 17, 2025, at the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, marked a smooth transition of leadership. Professor Atayese, in his address, lauded Professor Dairo as a “competent and visionary scholar” and a “man of excellence, thoughtfulness, and integrity” with a distinguished record of leadership within the university system.
Before this appointment, Professor Dairo served as the Dean of the College of Engineering (COLENG) at FUNAAB. His predecessor, Professor Atayese, expressed strong confidence in Professor Dairo’s ability to build upon the university’s developmental achievements.

Professor Atayese also used the opportunity to thank the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babatunde Kehinde, for his support during his brief but impactful tenure as DVC, Development. His transition to FUADSI highlights a significant career advancement and a testament to his capabilities.
The ceremony was attended by prominent figures from the FUNAAB community, including the former Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ololade Enikuomehin, and Dr. Adijat Atayese, wife of the immediate past DVC. Staff members from the DVC (Development)’s Office were also present to congratulate Professor Dairo and extend their best wishes for a successful term.
