PATTAYA, Thailand – A 60-year-old British tourist, identified as Chris John Glennon, reported being robbed of cash by three individuals he invited back to his hotel room in Pattaya. The incident occurred after Glennon, who is wheelchair-bound, met the trio—two women and one transgender woman—along a popular beachfront road in Pattaya’s bustling nightlife district.

According to reports, Glennon brought the three individuals to his room at the Basaya Beach Hotel and Resort. The alleged theft took place after he excused himself to take a shower. Upon his return, he discovered that his cash, totaling over £290 (approximately 6,000 Thai Baht and £150 in British notes), had been stolen, and the suspects had fled the scene.

Glennon promptly reported the incident to hotel staff, who assisted him in filing a complaint at the Pattaya City Police Station around midnight. Authorities are now actively investigating the case.
Police stated that security footage and ID documents left at the front desk by the suspects have been crucial in identifying two of the alleged perpetrators: Thai woman Chantakarn Donlueam and transgender suspect Ekkarat Marknok. The third individual, another Thai woman, remains unidentified as she did not present an ID to hotel staff.
Investigators are reviewing hotel CCTV footage for additional evidence and have recorded the incident for prosecution. This event serves as a reminder of the ongoing risks for tourists in well-known nightlife areas, with local police reiterating warnings for visitors to exercise caution when interacting with strangers and for hotels to verify the identity of all guests and visitors.
