Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State warmly welcomed his wife, Ominini Makinde, who led a team of medical officials to the Government House today, July 8, 2025. The delegation included Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, Commissioner for Health; Dr. Muideen Olatunji, Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board; and Dr. Temitope Orji, South West Coordinator of The Centre for Well-being Integrated Nutrition Solution (CWINS).

The team is actively engaged in sensitizing residents across Oyo State about the ongoing measles and rubella vaccination campaign. Governor Makinde expressed his administration’s full support for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of protecting children’s health and safety through immunization.
“Our administration is committed to providing all necessary resources and support to ensure the success of this vital public health drive,” Governor Makinde stated.
The campaign aims to increase vaccination coverage to prevent outbreaks of measles and rubella, diseases that pose significant health risks to children. The government and health officials are working closely with communities to raise awareness and encourage participation in the vaccination program.
This initiative reflects Oyo State’s dedication to improving child health outcomes and preventing vaccine-preventable diseases. It underscores the administration’s proactive approach to safeguarding the well-being of its youngest citizens through effective public health interventions.
