He praised Oba Olakulehin as a man of peace whose reign fostered unity and development throughout Ibadan.

Governor Abiodun extended his sympathies on behalf of all Southern Nigerian governors, stating:
“On behalf of all the governors in the southern part of Nigeria, I sympathize with His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan in council, and all sons and daughters of Ibadan over the death of the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.”
He noted that the passing of the revered monarch came at a time when his wisdom and experience were still needed, but emphasized that Oba Olakulehin’s life was impactful and eventful, serving as a beacon of Ibadan and Yoruba tradition.
