Police confirmed that after the kidnapping, the suspect led officers to a forest where the victim was buried in a shallow grave. The gang had demanded a ransom of N60 million from the family but had already killed the farmer before any payment was made. Two suspects are from Akwa Ibom State, and three others from Nasarawa State; the four remain at large as investigations continue.
The family revealed that the deceased had a large farm cultivating pineapples, cocoa, melon, and yam and that the workers were paid monthly salaries. The crime has sparked police efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects and bring them to justice.
