Ogun to integrate So-Safe corps into civil service

The Ogun State government on Wednesday pledged to fast-track the regularisation of operatives of the Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, otherwise known as So-Safe Corps, into the civil service to strengthen the state security architecture

The government also appreciated the contribution of the officers of the security agency, pledging to always support them with relevant, up-to-date training to discharge their responsibilities more efficiently and professionally.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr Rotimiolu Akinlesi, stated this at the closing ceremony of the three-week capacity building training for officers of the state-owned security agency.

Akinlesi said that the three-week training with the theme “Community-Based Security Interventions: Challenges, Opportunities and Best Practices” has provided the opportunity for the officers to further sharpen their skills.

He urged them to deploy the knowledge gained at the training to provide adequate security for the residents of the state.

The PS added, “I therefore want to extend my sincere gratitude to you all for your active participation during the programme while also assuring you that your dedication to service is not unnoticed.

“This is more so the reason why the Ministry has placed the effort of regularising the So-Safe Corps staff members in Ogun State Civil Service on the front burner.

“I must say that this is a project that will see the light of day in no distant time. You should just keep doing what you know how to do best and leave the rest to us.”

Akinlesi lauded the leadership of all the security agencies in the state for working together as one big family to ensure adequate security for all and sundry in the state.
