Faskari, Katsina State – Grief and outrage have gripped the community of Faskari following the confirmation of the death of Malam Sani Dandada, the Madawakin Fawa of Faskari, who was abducted by bandits on April 19th. The respected traditional title holder was kidnapped while returning from Daura, and despite his family reportedly paying a full ransom to his captors, he was not released.

The devastating news was first made public on Friday through a post on the social media platform X by security analyst, Bakatsine. It also highlights the callous disregard for human life by criminal elements who continue to operate with impunity, even after receiving payment.

While security analyst Bakatsine has reported the death, local authorities in Katsina State have yet to issue an official statement regarding this deeply troubling event.

The silence from official channels has further fueled anxiety and calls for immediate action to address the escalating banditry in the area. The circumstances surrounding Malam Sani Dandada’s abduction and death are still unclear. It remains unknown when or how he was killed, and why his abductors failed to release him after the ransom was paid.
